A New Adventure Begins

Hello and welcome to the new and (hopefully) improved Jet Set Jac!

Jet Set Jac started way back in in 2014. I had just graduated from college and decided that I was going to be the next big travel blogger. I booked a one way ticket to Australia, bought a domain name, and hoped for the best.

As it turns out, I did not have the motivation to turn travel blogging into a career. I never once published a blog post despite writing numerous drafts. As the months (and then years) went on, the website dwindled in obscurity, devoid of all content. Jet Set Jac became a cute instagram name and a joke among my friends.

Well, Jet Set Jac is a joke no more.

This year, I was lucky enough to be accepted into the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms program. After completing a rigorous course on global education, I was assigned a cohort and a destination. This July, I will travel to India to learn about Indian education and to teach in a local community. As part of my coursework, I will complete a capstone project — this website.

So yes, it’s true that I am not dusting off this website out of a renewed desire to be a teacher traveler influencer. Still, I’m newly invigorated to do what I’ve always sworn I would do: share my (mostly) true stories and (not so) humble opinions.

So here we go! My goal is to post not only about my Fulbright travel, but about the lessons I’ve learned over the years as I’ve explored the world. Join me as a learn, make mistakes, and grow.

Teach. Travel. Transform.
